The Rivard Report is inviting readers to join us on a downtown adventure, a Culture Connection, to explore downtown and the Briscoe Western Art Museum using VIA Metropolitan Transit‘s free entertainment route, The E.
We’ve partnered with VIA to create the Culture Connection series that will feature art and entertainment institutions along the path of The E route in downtown San Antonio. Culture Connection’s inaugural voyage will embark on Tuesday, June 9, for a private, after-hours tour of the Briscoe.
We’ll meet at the main entrance of the Tobin Center of the Performing Arts where The E bus will pick us up at 6:30 p.m. From there, we’ll head to the Briscoe for our private tour. Afterwards, join us in the Briscoe’s Clingman Education Gallery for a free social hour sponsored by Busted Sandal Brewing Company.
The E is a new pilot bus route that circulates locals and visitors to and from some of downtowns most unique entertainment destinations. The E runs every 10 minutes from 6 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Saturday. The best part: it’s free.
The Briscoe opened its doors in 2013 and houses an extensive collection of western art. From one of a kind paintings to Pancho Villa’s saddle, the museum offers an array of art and culture that typify the west.
The tickets are free but to join, you must RSVP via brown paper tickets. Seating is limited to 60 people, so sign up early.
After the event, we’ll hop back on the E bus to return to the Tobin Center.
Culture Connection coincides with Downtown Tuesday, so parking is free in City-operated parking garages and street parking. Not coincidentally, such parking is located on or near The E route.
