Photo Gallery: Fiesta Flambeau Dazzles Thousands

Parades hit another level when the sun goes down, and Fiesta Flambeau is no exception to this rule. Thousands of parade participants were draped from head to toe in illumination. The Flambeau presented vivid visuals such as fully lit marching bands, twirling dancers, and shining Fiesta royalty.

The staging area underneath Highway 281 near the Pearl Brewery drew a rambunctious crowd, sparking my interest. The air was filled with the sound of beating drums, the smell of funnel cakes, and the aura of enlightened attendees who wore enthusiastic smiles even brighter than their outfits.

  1. Great photos, but we were pretty disappointed by the parade last night. We were at the GracePoint Church chairs which are about 1/2 way through the route, but there were huge gaps with long delays and then groups rushing through to catch up. I only saw one Brazilian dance group and it was small and unorganized, and the out of town bands were mostly small and unimpressive. (Exception- Texas State and UT Bands were awesome!) Most of the floats were from Valley events and didn’t really carry through the theme. We stayed until the end so we could help with the chairs but less than a 1/3 of the crowd stayed that long. This year’s Flambeau paled compared to Battle of the Flowers, which surprised us.
