Here’s how a bank or credit union usually opens up a new branch: start with a traffic study, purchase a property, and maybe, send out an invite for the ribbon cutting. But San Antonio Credit Union (SACU) wants to try something different. And it begins with listening to you.
We’d like you to tell us what you want from a credit union for the Eastside. What financial products and services are needed? What are the challenges and opportunities in the neighborhood? What should the new location look like? Where should it be located? What do we need to know about the history and future and rhythm and vibe of the Eastside in order to start down the path of becoming a good neighbor. As you can see, we’re thinking about how we do new locations differently. More like a community center focused on making you more financially healthy.
So we need to meet you and hear from you. Please come and contribute your voice this Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Embassy Church International, 1731 East Houston St., from 5:30-8 p.m. You’ll have the opportunity to help us make our new location work best for the community. And come hungry — we’ll have free food and refreshments.

We believe to do our job, we need to be meaningfully connected to the community. That doesn’t happen overnight. Our goal is to apply our talents and expertise in collaboration with the families and businesses of the Eastside, in contributing to an authentic, vibrant, and strong neighborhood. To begin, we need to hear from you. So thanks in advance and see you Wednesday night.
