Join us Monday, May 12th, (on your bike or a B-Cycle) for our weekly Something Monday bike ride exploring San Antonio’s history, culture and special spaces. Hopefully the weather cooperate with us this time as we get a rare, behind-the-scenes tour of the Majestic & Empire Theaters and the backstage labyrinth of dressing rooms, halls and walls that connect the two historic venues. Every nook and cranny has been memorialized by rock stars, Broadway performers, famous comedians and many others who have been leaving their autographs and artistic expressions behind for decades. It’s celebrity graffiti at its best, and each contribution tells a story.

Mike Rilley, general manager of both theaters, will give us a unique behind the scenes tour of the historic venue and see how artist from The Blue Man Group to Sting leave creative and memorable artwork to commemorate their visit to San Antonio.

The Majestic and Empire Theatres were built in the early half of the 20th century and have served as a major part of city’s identity and continue to be a cornerstone for urban renewal.

We will depart at 6:30 p.m. from the B-Cycle Station located in the Full Goods parking lot at The Pearl and make our way through downtown. The ride to The Majestic and back will only be about 4 miles, so the ride should be very enjoyable even for beginners.

Afterwards, we will make our way back to Midtown and meet up at Taco Land for drinks, and conversation.

Hope to see you there,
The Rivard Report Team

    • Rachel,

No worries at all. We will arrive around 7 pm in front of The Majestic. It will be a great tour.

      Hope to see you there,
      Jaime
