“I don’t know what it is, but it never gets old,” John Gibeau remarked as his flight on a C-47 World War II plane ended. This helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War has seen plenty of flying in his life, but his eyes still light up like a young boy when he is soaring high above the ground.

Gibeau was one of hundreds of people who enjoyed exploring the aircraft of The Commemorative Air Force at Stinson Airport this Fourth of July weekend. A B-17, B-25, and C-47 plane anchor the collection that includes about a dozen planes. You can get up close and board the aircraft. Members of the Commemorative Air Force share their knowledge and experience with visitors.

For an additional donation, you can enjoy a flight in one of these vintage aircrafts. The flying continues on Sunday, July 5 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
