  1. I love this article. Jack Kallison is my uncle. His dad, my grandfather, was a very dapper guy. He owned a building downtown that had a beauty school as a tenant. He would go there every day for a shave, and he loved how the women fussed over him. I guess my uncle Jack takes after his dad. I loved this article, and it made me smile seeing how happy my uncle looked. Thanks for taking such good care of him.

  2. What a beautiful story. I never new this barbershop existed. It’s nice to learn about people like Dora Garcia, a small business woman making a difference in our community. Congratulations! Thank you for sharing this story with us.

  3. The number one barber shop in San Antonio!! I started coming here in 1985 when Ramiro Benavidez owned the shop and Tony was shining shoes. Why change? The service here has been fantastic during my 34 years as a patron. Dora was cutting hair with Ramiro when he received the terrible health news. When Dora took over the shop not a single customer missed a beat. This place might be even friendlier than “CHEERS” and that would be saying something! A year or so ago Tony turned in his shoe shine rag but the man above is looking after this shop and Gregorio soon appeared on the scene. I saw boots galore that Gregorio shined during the Rodeo. The shine on the boots “WOW”. Come on down, you won’t find a nicer, friendlier barber shop in South Texas!
