Look and Listen: Pints & Politics Recap

The Rivard Report hosted its inaugural Pints & Politics event at Alamo Beer Company‘s new brewery on Wednesday, inviting the four major mayoral candidates – Mayor Ivy Taylor, Leticia Van de Putte, Mike Villarreal and Tommy Adkisson – to speak to the community about their personal lives and the political forecast if elected during the May 9 City Election.

The event attracted a younger audience, but included some Baby Boomers, who were able to ask the candidates questions and interact with them before and after the forum. The photo gallery above and the podcast below recap the night. Adolph Lopez of Rising Lotus productions is producing a full video which will be done soon and will certainly be a valuable resource to voters as they approach voting booths.

Thanks to Alamo Beer staff and generous owner Eugene Simor, Dignowity Meats, our UTSA entrepreneurial interns (Kimberly Todd, Erinn Larson, Nathaniel Lopez, and Nicholas Arrington) who helped organize the event, the candidates, and of course the audience for making Pints & Politics a success.

The Rivard Report will host Pints & Politics II on April 14 at the Pearl Stable. We’ll keep the ticket price at $10 and expect to sell 400 tickets. The four candidates have all agreed to attend. Details and tickets will be available soon. Stay tuned, San Antonio.
