Alamo Street Eat Bar will close for good Jan. 15. Owners Steve and Jody Bailey Newman will focus on opening another location of The Friendly Spot Ice House, other businesses and partnerships, and their two young children.

One year ago, 10 San Antonians – some friends, some strangers – decided to stir the pot creatively by awarding $1,000 a month — no strings attached — to a different person with an awesome idea for making the city a better place.
The local chapter of the Awesome Foundation, Awesome SA, awarded a $1,000 grant to photographer Sarah Brooke Lyons for her 1005 Faces project last night during an award ceremony at Alamo Street Eat Bar.
