HOUSTON – The NBA has scheduled games on Christmas Day since 1947 and over the past three decades has used the holiday games to showcase its best teams. This explains why the Spurs have played 10 Christmas Day games in the past 15 seasons.
The annual Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony is a San Antonio tradition celebrating its 34th year, and for many, it is the official kick-off of the holiday season.

A typical San Antonio Christmas consists of 70 degree weather and overwhelming traffic from every direction, but it’s still my favorite place to enjoy the holiday.
The year 2013’s last Something Monday social bike ride took us by San Antonio’s holiday lights and into Main Plaza to enjoy with passersby the sweet sound of a cappella singers performing in the shadow of San Fernando Cathedral.
