There are many reasons why people from San Antonio and beyond come to Rosedale Park each year for the Tejano Conjunto Festival. For 36 years, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center has hosted the event on the city’s Westside, which serves as a mecca for those who love to listen to and dance to conjunto music throughout a weekend in Spring.
Kat Dog, who has been going to the festival for the past 16 years, is one of thousands who come to enjoy the regional music each year. But beyond the music, Dog also noted the community that is built each year at the iconic event.
“If you don’t know the person you’re sitting next to, by next year you’re going to remember, and the year after and the year after,” Dog said at this year’s festival.
