Seton Home and St. PJ’s Children’s Home merged under Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio, making it one of the largest nonprofit community organizations in the South Texas area.
The combined funds from the merger will help support programs under Catholic Charities including the Guadalupe Home, a shelter that gives women ages 18-40 who are pregnant or parenting a place to live.
Elaina Stokes is one of many women who were homeless until they moved to the Guadalupe Home.
“I’m not where I want to be, you know, but I’m gradually just starting to pick myself up,” she said. “…My mind is better now, I’m drug free.”
